GlobalGiving: www.globalgiving.org

Global Giving, www.globalgiving.org is MotherNurture’s first international partner. GlobalGiving is one of the world’s best-known organizations in the field of on-line giving. It has received beautiful and richly deserved references in Bill Clinton’s book “Giving” and by Nicholas Kristof in his New York Times Op-Ed, dated April 13, 2007.
MotherNurture’s partnership with GlobalGiving aims to ensure that money can be channeled to their women’s programs.

GiveWorld, GiveIndia (www.giveworld.org, www.giveindia.org)

Venkat and his incredible team at GiveIndia have been our supporters and trusted partner and advisor ever since the idea of MotherNurture was born a couple of years ago. Ideas flew across continents via emails and phonecalls, and one landmark day, Anu noticed that GIVEIndia, with their characteristic simplicity, had collaborated with an NGO, CINI, which was way ahead of the curve and had already started an “Adopt a mother” program. Anu firmly believes that GIVE also had many others who contributed to this idea, but Venkat seems completely happy to support the possibility that the idea had started with their debates.

Obvious credit needs to be first given to CINI for their program, and through our collaboration, we hope to have children and young people reach out to mothers, through CINI and through lots of other organizations as well.

We still challenge ourselves to understand where the inflection point occurred, and hopefully contribute to other entrepreneurs someday on how ideas are conceived, born, and how they can grow and take on a life of their own.

We are giving a link to Give India/CINI’s the “Adopt a mother program” here. http://www.giveworld.org/cini/cini_profile.htm.

You can and should also browse through other portions of GIVE’s website. It is a humbling and empowering experience, when you see how far even a small donation can go.
