Management
Committee:
Anu Oza,
Founder and CEO
Anu has worked in Human Resources and Communications for
over a decade. A graduate of Stella Maris College, the Tata Institute of
Social Sciences, Harvard and the London School of Economics, she has worked
for Unilever in Asia and the U.K., consulted for the UN in New York and
worked for a global public relations agency, also in New York. Apart from
being an interlocutor to the UN, Anu has been a mentor to a team from MIT
that participated in the Columbia Business School Social Venture Competition.
One of her proudest moments was when this team won an award at the competition.
She says she learnt so much from them and believes she got much more from
this team than she ever gave them. Anu is a mother, and her daughter, Aditi
is one of MotherNurture’s first young champions. She hopes to see
a world where children and young people continue to learn to build enterprises
that build economic and social value.

and part of a startup consulting firm (Emergent) in datawarehousing. He
holds an M.S. from University of Massachusetts (US) and a B.S. from University
of Pune.
Reshmi Khurana,
Director,Young Champion outreach, USA
Reshmi Khurana was inspired to join
MotherNurture when she realized that, as a mother, she is going to be
responsible for making sure that her one year old daughter grows up to
be a kind, giving, aware and happy adult. She also realized that her own
sensitivity to women’s issues is not because she is blessed with
an inherently good heart. Rather, her empathy has been built through the
numerous examples of kindness that her parents, teachers and other role
models set for her throughout her life. MotherNurture’s goal of
offering opportunities to children and young people to improve the lives
of mothers appealed to her very much. It is a wonderful way to make a
sustained impact on the lives of mothers while developing childrens’
philanthropic interests when they are really young. Uma, her daughter,
who is now just over a year old, is one of MotherNurture’s first
young champions.
Reshmi is currently an Associate Managing Director
at Kroll, a risk consulting firm. Before this, she was a strategy consultant
at McKinsey & Company in India . She obtained a Masters degree in
Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE),
and her undergraduate degree in Economics from University of Delhi .
Gaurav Laroia,
Director, Health Initiatives
Gaurav is a Senior Director in Global
Marketing at Merck. Prior to this he worked for Sanofi-Aventis, where
he was responsible for formulation and implementation of strategic initiatives.
Before Aventis, he was a consultant at McKinsey & Company, working
predominantly in the Pharmaceutical and Biotech sectors in the US and
in India. He holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from New York University
School of Medicine, a Masters Degree in Genetics from the University of
Cambridge, UK and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Delhi, India.
Gaurav's scientific and commercial background will
help us in developing a compelling value proposition for MotherNurture,
critical for attracting not only young children and adults (who are our
ultimate target) but also industry and academic experts who we hope will
support MotherNurture by sharing with us their time and expertise. And
of course, he is a constant reminder to other management committee members
that we are mere enablers for a concept like MotherNurture to be successful.
Its true success lies in the hands of our young champions and our distinguished
supporters.
